It is the journey of a man, a detective, and an entire city's quest for peace. The man seeks peace through atonement, the detective through revenge and the city through resolution. The film explores whether peace can be attained when one exists in constant chaos - be it in reality, or in the mind.。年近不惑的翟耀东（王千源 饰）是一名公司小职员，历经N次相亲，如今还是孤家寡人。母亲（李明启 饰）借房屋拆迁补偿再次催儿子，耀东只好在报上刊登了征婚启事。应征者叫徐竞男（邢宇菲 饰），长相漂亮且落落大方，耀东第一眼就着了迷。伹竞男有个相处五年的情人丁红旗（曹卫宇 饰），她多次要丁与老婆离婚，伹丁红旗始终脚踩两只船。相亲结束时，耀东被人误当小偷抓住，而抓他的人竟是老同学邓佑真（闫妮 饰）。在以后的接触中，佑真对耀东产生了感情，而一心在竞男身上的耀东则浑然不觉。因大意给公司遭成损失，耀东被单位开除，他又谋了份超市收银员工作。母亲得知佑真离异且患不孕症后，坚决反对儿子跟她相处，耀东该怎么办呢......。
