《鲜花盛开的村庄》讲述川西平原的柳荫村已经进入了小康，村主任德兴叔的任期到了。在新主任的竞选中，儿媳妇葵花姐几经周折，顺利当选“女村官”。作风泼辣的葵花姐坚信“人有两瓣心，一瓣真心对人，一瓣良心对己。”村官上任后，整治环境卫生、发展豆瓣厂、搞集约化蔬菜种植大棚，赢得了大家信任。但她始终无法解决分地的问题，加之包金旺阳奉阴违，大学生村官好心帮倒忙，葵花姐被逼下台。补选的新村官包金旺不顾村委会的反对，引进制革厂、爆竹厂，但因污染和安全问题被工商局勒令停工。被欠薪的民工们辗转找到包金旺索要工资，危难之际，又是葵花姐站出来，以村民自治的办法，将包金旺的宅基地有偿转让，解决了残局。包金旺主动辞职，葵花姐再次挑起重任。。Gilbert Gonzalez (Adrian Martinez), feels isolated from the world.
