为掩护我鲁西地区党政重要机关及教导第3旅旅部的转移，侵华日军的一个中队及伪军大队大部分在梁山至运城之间的刁孟庄附近被全歼之后，驻南京的日军总司令岗村宁次恼羞成怒，责令驻华北派驻军司令官烟俊六对我鲁西军民发动空前规模的大扫荡。1941年1月的中旬，侵华日军第32师和第21师各出动一部共计7000余人还有伪军一部共计1万余人，还有参战的坦克20余辆、汽车300余辆，在10余架飞机支援下，从济宁、菏泽、临清、河北大名出动，对以濮县、范县、观城为中心的鲁西抗日根据地进行“扫荡”，企图合击八路军第115师教导第3旅。教导第3旅旅长杨勇、政治委员苏振华决心以特务营营部率第9连和第10连在苏村阻击牵制敌人（现属山东省莘县张寨乡），掩护鲁西区党政机关及旅机关和新4旅突围转移,尔后采取分散行动、避实击虚、寻机歼敌的战略方针，反击这次日伪军的“扫荡”。。Tom, a married man with kids, is struggling at work when a client tries to seduce him with promises of a 'more exciting life'.
