群山环绕的张家大滩，坐落于兰州市郊。村民们朴实、善良，在张村长的带领下，世代以种葱、种瓜为生。张磊是张家大滩走出的第一个大学生，毕业于西北师范大学。毕业后，他毅然放弃了留在城市的机会，决定回到生他养他的故乡。。铁牛的父亲因被迫与人动武受伤，不久后死去，临死前就交代不许铁牛再学武，要他耕田去,在一次无意中撞破了村长与寡妇的好事，被陷害赶出了村，冲公了所有家传的财产，只好流落在外，一个从没出过门的小子在外．．．一连串的故事就这样开始了.....。Based in 1934 in Duluth, Minn., during the Great Depression, “Girl From the North Country” centers on a group of wayward travelers as their lives intersect in a guesthouse.
