They will meet a Nixon advisor, a lawyer, a senator and a movie star who is also an activist.。本片以中国旗袍手工艺中重要的一个环节“打板”为媒介，讲述了一对生活在北京胡同里的林家父子之间的故事，他们之间因手艺的传承发生了很多时而欢喜时而感人的故事，历经重重困难最后父子连心将中国旗袍推向世界舞台。
