Every year, thousands of high schoolers enter the August Wilson monologue competition for a chance to perform on Broadway. This film follows these students, examining how Wilson and his characters speak to a new generation, inspiring them to listen to his words and find their own voice.。八十年代初期的邵氏电影，在赌片上下的工夫显然是比较大。比如这部投资不大、效益却不小的《打雀英雄传》，就是其中的一个代表作。刚刚在电视银屏上塑造完赌王形象的谢四哥，再度重操旧业，扮演起了足智多谋的麻雀英雄，角色尚算是有情有义。故事围绕着年青电脑专家钱小豪展开，四哥为了帮他，避免其麻雀馆落入麻雀千王败类岳华手上，不惜重新出山与其鏖战，双方斗智，最终胜出一筹。。Kelly McCormack及Priscilla Delgado将会在Amazon试映集《她们的联盟 A League of Their Own》担当主演，这部电视剧项目改编自1992年的同名电影。目前本剧其他演员包括D’Arcy Carden（同时也是主创之一）﹑Abbi Jacobson及Gbemisola Ikumelo。 就如电影本身，剧版《她们的联盟》讲述一支二战后建立的女子职业棒球队。。
