洛弗尔因为患有嗜睡症而向心理医生求助，他发现自己每天醒来都是不同的年纪，且没有规律可言，然而他却很清楚自己是谁以及多大了。洛弗尔只能依靠写心理日记来记录自己所经历的过往，从上面拼凑出人生轨迹。渐渐地，他发现自己从童年起就结识的女孩格蕾丝后来成为了他的妻子，却在一次意外中丧生。为找出格蕾丝的死因并制止事件发生，洛弗尔小心翼翼珍惜每一次和格蕾丝的相处，竟发现妻子的死很可能和当医生的父亲奥森有关。灾难还是降临了，在洛弗尔28岁的圣诞节夜晚，格蕾丝车祸重伤，恰逢当晚当值的奥森因为嗜睡症错过了救治时间。洛弗尔从此怨恨父亲，直到他得知自己此前曾有过一个叫凯文的儿子之后，重新理解了父亲这个身份。原来一切都是格蕾丝冥冥之中带给他的启示，让爱人能够克服疾病所带来的伤害。一次凯文在意外中受伤，接诊的正是奥森，父子俩冰释前嫌。。1993年仁川，粗鲁又不好相处的高利贷业者头石（成东镒饰）和宗培（金熙元饰）想拿回欠债，却意外地带回九岁的承怡（朴昭怡饰）作为担保。 「担保是什么意思？」不知道什么意思就成为担保的承怡，因承怡妈妈遭到遣返，头石和宗培必须负责把孩子送给别人领养。本以为承怡被有钱人家领养，却发现送到不是原先想像的地方，两人决定把承怡带回家照顾。突然接管小孩，必须担保小孩人生的头石和宗培，与因欠债而被作为担保的承怡，头石、宗培、承怡这三个人，不知不觉成为彼此很特别的存在。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs.
