根据亚历山大·普希金的同名戏剧改编，讲述沙皇鲍里斯·戈东诺夫的传奇故事，他于1598年－1605年统治俄罗斯。。青（刘锡明）与师父忠（林尚武）一起参加武术比赛，互相对垒，忠暗中施计，令自己获胜，青武功好而品性纯良，不虞有诈。 青在这场拳赛中认识英国回来的富家女乔（卢淑仪），两人开始相恋。忠为得到乔的家财，不惜施计陷害青，迫青走上绝路。 青幸得伟（罗莽）相助，苦练拳术，终于学有所成，与忠展开一场生死决战……。Although they are only janitors at a detective agency, the boys pass themselves off as sleuths and are engaged to guard an inventor delivering a new bomb. They outwit enemy agents after the bomb and wind up sinking a Japanese submarine.。
