本片借两对男女互相间的滥情、妒忌和背叛来制造笑料。流浪汉布杜被一个好心的书商从塞纳河中救起并收留，书商的太太和女佣对好吃懒做的布杜非常厌恶，流浪汉非但不感恩戴德，还勾引书商的太太和女仆，把他家搞得鸡犬不宁。偏偏书商本身也与女佣有染，这两对男女的爱情烂账，终于决定要用一场婚宴来解决。。Laura loses her family in a tragic fire while living in Spain. Just as she prepares to return home to the States, a member of the American embassy provides proof that it wasn't an accident. Laura decides to stay and uncover the truth about her family's death, a decision which soon places her own life in jeopardy as she becomes embroiled in murder, stolen diamonds, cover- up...。
