Birds of paradise are one of David Attenborough's lifelong passions. He was the first to film many of their beautiful and often bizarre displays, and over his lifetime he has tracked them all over the jungles of New Guinea. In this very personal film, he uncovers the remarkable story of how these 'birds from paradise' have captivated explorers, naturalists, artists, film-makers...。吕米高（王合喜 饰）高价竞得了一尊石像，考古学家陈教授（岛田阳子 饰）向其借来了石像，研究隐藏在其中的长生不老药的谜团。陈教授派出了学生庄健（原子鏸 饰）和小敏（李昭 饰），两人前往中印边境，寻找遗失在那里的石板，途中，两人结识了当地的向导小鬼（释小龙 饰）和考古系学生张军（张晋 饰），众人结伴而行。 一行人最终找到了石像，却引来了杀身之祸。在石板中，陈教授发现了一张古墓地图，长生不老药就隐藏在古墓之中。此时，张军揭下了伪善的假面，露出了贪婪而又邪恶的真面目，竟想要抢夺藏宝图。在争抢之中，庄健和小敏失散了。。
