萧华在日本留学期间与芸子相爱，可是遭到了芸子的哥哥中村的极力反对，萧华只好一人回到中国。回到家乡的萧华得知父母早已去世，村里大部分的人都出外淘金，但没有一个人活着回来。他从逃出矿区的两位大哥口中得知，原来日本人假借淘金的幌子骗人去挖钨矿，而矿区的负责人正是中村。萧华知道钨是建造枪炮的重要元素，他混进 矿区想联合所有矿工的力量......。故事设定在上世纪五十年代末期，Maria Casadevall在剧中扮演富有、忠诚的Maria Luiza，生活中一切事情都依靠丈夫和父亲。她和丈夫一起从圣保罗来到里约热内卢开饭店，可是她的丈夫抛弃了她，带着所有的钱不知所踪。Maria一开始感到绝望，后来心情逐渐平复。在巴萨诺瓦舞刚刚兴盛的那个时代，Maria很快有了新的梦想——独自留在里约创办一家巴萨诺瓦舞蹈俱乐部。一向严厉的父亲对Maria的决定颇感不悦，虽然这件事的确有些不明智，但Maria还是坚持了自己的决定。她既受到激情的驱策，也受到三个坚持女权主义和自由主义的新朋友的影响——意志坚定、个性顽强、土生土长的里约黑人Adélia（Pathy Dejesus），拥有完美嗓音的童年好友Lígia（Fernanda Vasconcellos），还有现代派的独自作家Thereza（Mel Lisbo...。Aspiring filmmakers Mel Funn, Marty Eggs and Dom Bell go to a financially troubled studio with an idea for a silent movie. In an effort to make the movie more marketable, they attempt to recruit a number of big name stars to appear, while the studio's creditors attempt to thwart them. The film contains only one word of dialogue, spoken by an unlikely source.。
