Their close friendship is strengthened by their shared love for the same woman who is dying of tuberculosis.。林洁芸与罗守礼相恋多时，礼不满芸酗酒，故迟迟不向她求婚。礼与友人黄玫瑰使激将计，却使芸怀疑礼移情。芸一次酒后胡言，向黑道中人蔡公侠买凶，要杀死与礼成婚的人。芸次日宿醉醒来懊悔不已，决心戒酒。礼终向芸求婚，二人到澳门度蜜月。芸终日因买凶一事胆战心惊，遂伺机找侠，侠却在她面前遭人杀掉。夫妇两返回香港，杀手周玉拟杀人灭口，冒警骗走芸，幸遭礼与警察赶至把她救出。。
