Oddly enough Wilmot takes only too well to the night-spots of Manhattan, wearing Bertie out in the process....。故事发生在人头攒动车水马龙的上海，出生于富贵之家的余创世（沈孟生 饰）系纨绔子弟，某日，竟然持枪杀死了自己的情敌。偶然路过的沈子君（夏文汐 饰）目睹了这一切，成为了唯一的目击证人。 余家的女婿朱焕亭成为事件的牺牲者，临死前，他告诉自己的妻子，自己有一个名叫张来福（刘松仁 饰），寄养在张伯通家里。他希望妻子能够找到张来福，让他认祖归宗。可是，张伯通并非正直之人，他刷了一个小小的花招，让亲儿子长贵（马景涛 饰）代替来福，成为了余家巨额财产的继承人。来福仁心宽厚，多次容忍长贵的冒犯，长贵则越来越过分，最终害得来福差点丧命。。
