本作は弁護士・神楽蘭が謎の天才脚本家・黒澤仁の力を借りて、現代社会の闇を暴くリーガルミステリー。蘭は親友を冤罪で殺人犯にしてしまい、現在は法律の世界から離れていた。1年後、彼女と同姓同名のリーガルエッセイがネット上に掲載され、“敗けを知らない敏腕弁護士”として祭り上げられる。欄はそのエッセイの作者である黒澤が書く台本の力を借り、親友の冤罪を晴らすために弁護士活動を再開する。。A shipowner intends to scuttle his ship on its last voyage to get the insurance money. Charlie, a tramp in love with the owner's daughter, is grabbed by the captain and promises to help him shanghai some seamen. The daughter stows away to follow Charlie.
